CLAU DE NELL | Ambillou-Château, Anjou-Saumur

This estate represents Anne Claude Leflaive’s arrival on the Loire, mainly to make red wines. Under the Anjou denomination, this 8 ha estate is run by Anne Claude’s husband, Christian Jacques, together with the intrepid and experienced Sylvain Potin, who takes care of the wine-making process and the vineyard. They practice biodynamic viticulture and their wines are clean and precise, but with a marked personality and character. Strolling through the vineyards with this family at sunset is like being in a wild garden. And tasting the wines from the barrels with Sylvain Potin gives you an idea of this project’s potential, and why he is in charge of Anne Claude’s wine production in Loire.
