BODEGA EN MOVIMIENTO | Puerto Real, Jerez - Cadiz

Marta García Luceño (Málaga) and Ana Hernández Pérez (Sanlúcar) are the two masterminds behind Bodega en Movimiento, the new wine project in the Sanlúcar de Barrameda area. Marta fell deeply in love with wine, and more specifically, natural wine, after working as a sommelier in bars and restaurants like Ducksoup in London and Bar Brutal in Barcelona. However, it was after tasting ancestral Palomino wines that she realized she wanted to commit to making this type of wine with this variety. And that's where the winery's story officially begins, in 2020.

She moved to Sanlúcar, where she met Ana, the other half of this project. The two form an extraordinary team. They have completed six harvests together, improving with each one, both committed to surpassing the previous year's achievements. They don't believe they are making wine themselves, but rather accompanying an existing natural process.

Their intention is clear when you observe the process they use to make their wines, all of which are sparkling: hand-harvesting, hand-destemming, manual vertical pressing, stainless steel tanks, and bottling. Just what's needed to give the grapes the space to express their full potential, both to themselves and to the terroir that Marta and Ana cultivate. No tricks, no masks, no artifice.

"This project was born from our hands, from our desire to be close to the land and our wish to respect and trust in natural processes," explains Marta. "We believe that wine, when it's natural, is a way to connect deeply with nature, an expression of ethics and respect. That's why we work in a traditional way, letting the grapes tell their own story."

A beautiful story that has only just begun, wonderful wines that improve every year; this winery is doing what few in its region attempt, and the future belongs to them.
