the winery
Contino,
Spain, La Rioja, Rioja Alavesa, Laguardia

Contino’s winery is all about pure Bordeaux "château" style. The winery is surrounded by its spectacular vineyards, situated by an Ebro river meander, in Laserna, a district of Laguardia, Rioja Alavesa. Next to the winery there is an extraordinary Graciano plantation, which the oenologist Jesús Madrazo perfectly knows how to make a profit of it. Their top wine is the highly well-known Viña del Olivo, which master Madrazo is proud to show whenever he is challenged to a vertical tasting. In any case, for Contino the most important wine is Contino Reserva, worked year after year to remain the undisputed leader.
